The #FreedomTour has come to an end. It was an amazing 37 days full of presentations, meetings, delicious food, & beautiful scenic drives.
Our visit to Suceava was just three days, but was incredibly full thanks to our partners on the ground. Our first day started with coffee with the regional ANTIP representatives. After coffee we headed over to a local high school for a presentation. In the afternoon, we did an interview on a local radio station. That evening we were able to share briefly at a local conference for Christian high school teachers.
Our second day in Suceava was even busier. Our team split up and spent the morning at different schools. We even had the opportunity to share about human trafficking during a chapel service at Scoala Crestina Filadelfia. In the afternoon, we met with a local community leader who helped us better understand the unique situation facing the young people of Suceava. That night we led a prayer service at the Filadelfia church. We owe a huge THANK YOU to a volunteer in Suceava, David Regus, who not only hosted our team but opened many doors for us!
Our next stop was Iasi. We have to admit… we were a bit surprised by this city. It was a true delight to spend time in Iasi and meet people from the local community. We again were welcomed by the local ANITP representatives and local schools for presentations. On Friday night, we had a great informal discussion with local young adults at a local coffee shop. On Saturday, we spent the afternoon on the streets in the city center handing out flyers for a human trafficking prevention campaign. That evening we again hosted a prayer night at a local church. On Sunday morning, we split into two groups and spoke at church services. On Monday morning, we met with a Director of a local NGO. If you’re ever in Iasi you must check out Cuib.
Our next stop on the #FreedomTour was Galati. We had presentations in two different high schools. The presentations we both arranged by the local team of ANITP. We also were blessed by a local church, Emanuel. Our team was able to stay in the church and also do a presentation during their service. The church actually started their own NGO to help serve their community, ProVeritas. As in many of the cities we visited, we also stopped by the local Bancpost branch to see their employees and take a photo! Bancpost was one of the official partners for the #FreedomTour and it was cool to see one of their locations in each of the cities we visited!
Our last stop was Constanta. We had a presentation at American Corner and saw many students interested in the topic. The tour ended when the team got back to Bucharest. We spoke about the #FreedomTour at the ANITP conference and on October 18 we handed out flyers to people and talked to them about the issue of human trafficking.
We are grateful we were able to go on #FreedomTour and want to thank each and every one of our partners and volunteers for making it possible!
